Courses and requirements

2019-2020 Art Department Courses

Freshman, Sophomores, Juniors, Seniors:
These art courses have no prerequisites.
  • Intro to 2 Dimensional Art (½ year)
  • Intro to 3 Dimensional Art (½ year)

Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors:
  • Drawing and Painting I (½ year) 
    prerequisite: Intro to 2D 
  • Sculpture and Ceramics I (½ year) 
    prerequisite: Intro to 3D
  • Digital Art (½ year)

    prerequisite: Intro to 2D or Intro to 3D
  • Yearbook  
​Please note the new graduation requirements for all Bartlett students:
Students will now need to pass 5 credits in the Fine and Performing Arts in order to graduate. This can be a full year course, or two semester courses. Classes can be from the Art and/or Music departments and can be completed in any year.
Juniors and Seniors:
all full year courses
  • Drawing and Painting II - prerequisite: Drawing and Painting I
  • Sculpture and Ceramics II - prerequisite: Sculpture and Ceramics I
  • Advanced Digital Art and Photography - prerequisite: Digital Art
  • Yearbook 

Juniors and Seniors with Teacher Approval:
  • Advanced Placement Studio

Seniors with Teacher Approval: 
  • Independent Study/ Portfolio Prep 2D or 3D
