Art students visit the NYC Botanical Gardens and Bronx Zoo
| September 29, 2017 A mix of 50 Art and AP Biology students enjoyed perfect weather at the Botanical Gardens where they viewed a variety of plant species as well as colorful glass sculptures by the artist Dale Chihuly. This temporary exhibition is his first garden show in ten years and will only be available until the end of October. This made our opportunity even more special and one-of-a-kind. Many students visited the gift shop to purchase plants they had seen in the gardens. Our students and chaperones all took amazing photos and we look forward to our next field trip! Thank you to the Janet Malser Trust for partial funding for this experience! Our students and chaperones all took amazing photos and we look forward to our next field trip! The group then traveled down the street to the Bronx Zoo to see Lions, Red Pandas, Rhinos, Seals, and many more animals. Both locations truly met at the intersection of art and science. |
Thank you to the students and chaperones for making this a fun and successful trip! Stay tuned for information about what we are up to next!
