Art Students participated in a 16 hour day trip to experience two world famous art museums with a walk through central park in between visits. Six music students and their Band Director also joined us on the trip, spending the first half of the trip in a Jazz Clinic. The weather was beautiful and the exhibitions were very well showcased. It was wonderful to see students engaging in artistic discussions, taking photographs, and asking questions about not only art, but the city of New York in general. Many students had never been to NYC and every turn we took brought a new piece of information from food trucks and vendors, to castles and skylines. For seniors, this was their last trip with the Art Department and we hope they continue to pursue an arts education by being active creators and consumers of art no matter where they end up after graduation.

Five Bartlett art students submitted original works to the annual Anna Maria High School Art Exhibition. Four ceramic pieces and one charcoal drawing are currently displayed on campus. Opening night for this show was a wonderful opportunity for students, parents, and teachers from surrounding districts to view and discuss amazing art. The event also revealed that one of our very own sculpture students earned an Honorable Mention for her Chia Monster (pictured below left).
