Thank You Samuel Slater Experience!
for inviting the Bartlett Art Department to view the museum along
with a special visual arts exhibition of the artist Richard Moninski.
This free Bartlett field trip was funded by The Janet Malser Humanities Trust. Bartlett art students explored the museum's fascinating historical exhibits that showcase much of Webster's fascinating history. After a quick lunch we were treated to a meet the artist talk by Richard Moninski. Richard Moninski, a Bartlett graduate, explained how his artwork ties into the history of Webster and the American Industrial Revolution.
Mr. Moninski explains: "In my paintings, I juxtapose various indigenous flora and fauna, portraits of seventeenth century New Englanders
and stylized representations of plants taken from European decorative arts traditions."

The Pied Potter Hamelin visits Bartlett Art Department 11/9/18
Richard Hamelin came to Bartlett to teach our art students how to make it in the pottery world. Mr. Hamelin put on a great workshop showing us new creative techniques in throwing pots on the pottery wheel. His workshop was embedded with many interesting facts about the history of clay and how clay is found in many house hold items, including toothpaste, make-up and the silicon chip. The Pied Potter is a master potter with over forty years of experience. Very educational and inspiring! Thank you, Richard Hamelin! Thanks to The Webster Cultural Council for funding Mr. Hamelin and allowing him to visit our school! www.piedpotterhamelin.com/

B[art]lett Day Trip to NYC 2017
Art Students participated in a 16 hour day trip to experience two world famous art museums with a walk through central park in between visits.
Six music students and their Band Director also joined us on the trip, spending the first half of the trip in a Jazz Clinic. The weather was beautiful and the exhibitions were very well showcased. It was wonderful to see students engaging in artistic discussions, taking photographs, and asking questions about not only art, but the city of New York in general. Many students had never been to NYC and every turn we took brought a new piece of information from food trunks and vendors, to castles and skylines. For seniors, this was their last trip with the Art Department and we hope they continue to pursue an arts education by being active creators and consumers of art no matter where they end up after graduation.

The Bartlett Art Department hosted an Empty Bowls event on March 24th.
Definitely was a night of good will, good food, and good ART! Thanks to everyone who helped! The $2000 we raised will be donated to the Webster Dudley Food Share! Our guest also donated 3 large boxes of non perishable food items. Our students donated their pots. The Bartlett Cafe and several local restaurants donated their food/time. The Bartlett Jazz Band sounded awesome! Bartlett's National Honor Society students volunteered their time setting up and serving our guests. Administrators, teachers, custodians, parents, students, and the community all came out and supported this worthy cause. Everyone seemed to love picking out their bowls. There were several blind folded pottery wheel demonstrations. Ice sculptures and other student created artwork. Students designed place mats for the kids to color but I think I saw more adults coloring.
