AP Art offers Bartlett High School students the opportunity to earn college credits as they further develop their technical skills in two dimensional art. Students each create an individual portfolio of work to be evaluated by The College Board.
Students participate in group critiques of student work as well as works by famous artists of the past and present. Through the completion of assignments (such as self-portraits, figure studies, and still life projects) AP students establish a theme for their portfolio.

"As a senior here at Bartlett High School, I've spent four years in the art department. Since Middle school, I've been in the process of creating a comic. While the plot and characters have changed with all of these years, my dream hasn't. My career choice is Illustrator. I want to make comics, or illustrate books. Being in the art department here with dedicated teachers, and a friendly, calm environment, I've been able to start to bring my comic into reality. Starting panels, and detailed character references, along with perfecting the plot. I'm closer to my goal of one day having my comic published and read by those who like what I'll be devoting my life to. I can't say that there's a better feeling than when it all gains momentum. I've got my plans in motion. Can't stop me now. Thank you so much to my teachers for inspiring me and pushing me to be my best. Class of 2014 ."
