Junior High students viewed examples of objects and designs that have rotational symmetry and discussed the difference between the radius, diameter, and circumference of a circle. Students used a compass to draw a circle with an eight inch diameter. After brainstorming multiple solutions, students chose one design involving text that would repeat in their mandala. Two methods of graphite transfer were used to repeat the design in each section. Students completed the process with markers and colored pencils. |
